This is one spectacular and RARE Pendleton blanket. The 100% virgin wool blanket has a napped surface which makes for a thicker and softer blanket. This Jacquard blanket features two remarkably different looks on the front and back giving you multiple decor options. The Toadlena Pendleton blanket is from around 2008 and has long been retired. Used versions of this blanket hardly ever surface on the market so finding this brand new with tags example is beyond amazing.

The blanket features a STUNNING Navajo Two Grey Hills geometric pattern with rich warm colors of tan, yellow-gold and black which make for an incredibly classy blanket. This blanket was woven in our American mills as an homage to the weavers of the Toadlena region of New Mexico.

The community of Toadlena is home to one of the Southwest's oldest, still-operating trading posts and to more than 350 years of Diné (Navajo) weaving history. There are many natural springs in the area, and the name Toadlena is thought to have come from a Navajo term meaning "water bubbling up". Weavers of the region are renowned for their fine, tightly woven textiles in natural shades of cream, tan, brown and grey. This classic design reflects the local weaving style known as Two Grey Hills, a design of geometric patterns usually based on a large hooked central diamond with multiple geometric borders.
