The Savoy Cocktail Book' New Edition, Extremely Rare, 1952. This is the first new edition to be published since the 1930s original went out of print during the war. From the Preface: Once again, Harry Craddock, for so long head of the American Bar at the Savoy, has contributed his recipes, whilst his successor at the Savoy, Johnny Johnson, includes his very latest cocktail, appropriately named'The Comet. This edition is illustrated by Nicolas Bentley; the title page, binding, and jacket designed by Peter Goffin.

The endpapers contain the "Newest Savoy Cocktails". 204 pages of cocktail recipes.

Blue cloth boards with cover title and rooster design in red (mirrored in dust jacket design) with original dust jacket that is clipped. The cloth boards have minimal bending to the corners.

The dust jacket is in good condition for its age, there are moderate tears to the top left-hand corner of the jacket with the small section missing, there is also a tear along the bottom of the jacket's spine and the bottom of the right-hand edge of the front cover. There is also rubbing to the top edge of the dust jacket. There are moderate foxing spots across the jacket and in particular along the righthand side of the front cover of the jacket. There is a handwritten cocktail recipe from a previous owner of the book that can be kept or discarded. There is moderate foxing on the inside 4 pages of the book, apart from that all the pages are in remarkable condition being extremely clean with only extremely light tanning and no marks or damage to the pages whatsoever. This item was kindly donated to raise funds for the Vision Foundation, London's leading sight loss charity supporting the city's best projects for blind and partially sighted people.
