Van Halen Peavey Wolfgang. Harvestburst Near mint, never used, extremely rare

  

Peavey Wolfgang USA Custom - Harvestburst. One of only 2 ever made. This is a very special guitar and extremely rare coming from the private collection of the ex-MD for Peavey Europe. It will only increase in value due to its superior quality, condition and rarity. This instrument was built by the Custom Shop for the 2003 NAMM show in LA as an example of what the 4-man custom shop team were capable of - guitar perfection!

After the show, it came back the UK and was stored in a display case, never played, (well, twanged a bit under strict supervision). As far as we know, less than 500 Custom Shop Woflgangs were made, only 5 or 6 with through body strings, only 3 with quilted, (curly) maple tops, and only 2 with the V-pattern string holes and Birdseye maple neck & fretboard. The graphics on the headstock are in gold and Eddie's signature is burnt into the back of the headstock. The quilted maple top is exceptional with an incredible 3D effect; it has to be seen to be fully appreciated. The Custom Shop has only produced 5 or 6 string through guitars. Three are this harvestburst color and two of them are right here. The third was made for the January 2003 NAMM show and is a quilt.

There is also a greenburst and a red one shown here. The holes are straight across on this string through and in an arc pattern on the quilt above. The quilt also has Wolfgang and EVH in white lettering, while the lettering is all gold in this one. The quilt has a white toggle switch, and the knobs are also gold. This flame has abalone dot inlays.

It is in exceptional, collectable condition, with only two minor dings on the end of the body and a very small ding on the top. (apparently, from a careless customer at the show who was subsequently taken outside and shot). Apart from that, there is absolutely no wear to any part. The woods have been specially selected to be the very best examples and you can see how beautiful this baby is from the photos.
