Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy Alternate Red Hand Cover EXTREMELY RARE
The item is STILL FACTORY SEALED in its original shrink wrap. The original plan was to have 3 different covers with different liner note art and CD art, but for some reason (not surprisingly), that plan was scrapped. What everyone ended up getting was the bicycle cover, otherwise known as cover A, while covers B & C never made it onto store shelves and still haven't to this day.
Only a few of the alternate covers were pressed and this is one of them, known as the Red Hand cover, or cover B. To describe this item as rare is quite an understatement since there are only a few known copies in the world. Having an alternate cover is cool enough, but this also has amazing alternate artwork throughout the booklet, different liner notes including a personal message from Axl (which is not in the cover A booklet), and different art on the actual CD. From the pictures, you probably noticed the hole punched in the top left corner of the CD. This was to signify that the CD was "Promo-Only, " i.
To my knowledge, only a few promotional copies of the cover B artwork were ever pressed to see the light of day, and only given to the band members and a small select group of people at the record label.
